The candle holder is supplied without a candle. As travertine is a natural product, there may be variations in colour and shape. This untreated natural stone comes from the region of Troy in Turkey. Travertine is the name for more or less porous limestone of a light, usually yellowish to brownish colour, which is deposited as a result of cold, warm or hot spring waters. The deposition of the natural stone takes place by heating the water in the air. This reduces the solubility of the lime. The small cavities and holes are formed by plant parts being trapped during the formation of the stone. The fine pores bind the excess water of the soap, making an optimal storage possible. Travertine is water permeable. Modern simplicity and casual hygge cosiness are the main reasons why Scandinavian design is so popular. The Danish brand House Nordic is no exception.
